Our recent "Parent's Day Out" event was a huge success, filled with festive fun and creative activities that both children and parents loved! The day kicked off with ornament-making, where children had a blast decorating their own personalized keepsakes to take home. Next, they crafted reindeer food using oats, glitter, and a dash of magic, perfect for spreading holiday cheer. The highlight of the day was definitely the cookie decorating station, where kids enjoyed adding colorful icing, sprinkles, and creative touches to their sweet treats. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to express their creativity, all while making lasting memories with friends. Parents were able to enjoy a little extra time to themselves, knowing their children were having a blast in a safe and joyful environment. It truly was a day full of holiday spirit, laughter, and fun!

Art at AoML
In our classrooms, art and painting are not just about creating beautiful pictures—they are about exploring and expressing creativity. Process-based art, where the focus is on the experience and journey of creating rather than the end result, encourages children to experiment with colors, textures, and tools in a free, open-ended way. This approach allows children to make choices, solve problems, and develop fine motor skills as they manipulate brushes, sponges, or even their hands in painting. The benefits of process-based art in early childhood are immense. It fosters creativity, boosts self-esteem, enhances concentration, and encourages emotional expression. Most importantly, it nurtures a love for learning and discovery, helping children develop a sense of confidence and joy in their own artistic abilities.
December to Remember at AoML
This month has truly been a "December to Remember" at AoML, filled with festive fun and heartwarming memories! From our magical Breakfast with Santa event, where children enjoyed pancakes, crafts, and a special visit from Santa himself, to the daily excitement of Elf on the Shelf activities that sparked laughter and surprise, every day has been filled with joy. Our spirit days, where children wore their holiday pajamas and bright, festive outfits, brought extra cheer to each classroom. But beyond the activities and decorations, it’s the sense of community and togetherness that makes this time of year truly special. Celebrating the magic of the season with our wonderful preschool families has been a reminder of what truly matters — the laughter, love, and support that make our center family the greatest gift of all. We are so grateful for each and every one of our children and families and the joy they bring to this center community.
